Pandora
The galaxy cluster, Abeil 2744, nicknamed Pandora’s Cluster appears to be the result of a crash between at least four separate, smaller galaxies, over the space of 350 million years. The image, taken and studied by scientists at NASA, shows that the galaxies in this cluster make up only about 5% of it’s mass. Another 20% is made up of the red colored gas, so hot that it shines only in X-rays. The remaining 75% of the cluster is invisible dark matter, that is colored in blue in this image. The beautiful nature of the colored elements make this a striking wallpaper in bright pink and purple, with fantastic detail of the galaxies visible up close.
